Crossroads Community Hub Board Trustees are volunteers from the local area who bring a range of social and business skills, and are committed to creating a dynamic hub of activity where community support, social enterprise businesses and training can be delivered, and cultural activities can flourish in a place that will inspire residents and improve health, well-being, employability, aspiration and community cohesion.
All board meetings are attended by a representative from East Ayrshire Council.
Former MD of RSL Prime Ltd MD of MITIE Engineering Scotland Ltd. Since retiring has become a STEM Ambassador visiting schools.
Dairy farmer and former director and current council member of First Milk.
Retired NHS dietitian, lecturer and professional dietetic adviser with NDR UK. Also breeds pedigree sheep.
Experienced senior fundraiser with Ayrshire Hospice. Previous management experience with Costley and Costley and events manager with Turnberry Resorts.
Experienced interior designer, director of a multi-national superyacht design firm. Versed in design, architecture, and construction.
Partner in family farming business. Diversified into cheesemaking from 2015.
Previously worked in learning support at Crossroads School. Currently with the NHS Speech and Language Therapy service.
Extensive experience working and managing in public, private and third sectors. Comes from a background of retail management, hospitality management, services, social/community work and education. Responsible for the management and coordination of people, plans and projects.
Combines comprehensive skills acquired in roles at Dumfries House and Muirkirk Community Council to help promote health and wellbeing through educational classes and the cooking of nutritious meals for the community.
A self-starter from a hospitality background. Utilises cooking skills to prepare meals on a commercial scale. Also runs classes relating to food and nutrition and volunteers at the local food bank.
Experienced landscaper and plant expert who has led several gardening workshops over the past 10 years. Oversees the Edible Beds project and maintains plots and beds throughout the area.
Assists management with the planning, organisation and implementation of everyday tasks and large-scale projects using administrative skills gained in previous roles.
An all-rounder in the Hub, prepared to try anything. Able to draw on over 5 years’ administration experience in fields ranging from tourism to sports education.
A classically taught chef with experience in hotels, bistros and fine dining restaurants in Ayrshire and Glasgow – an Ayrshire College Professional Cookery graduate.
