We are a registered FareShare distributor

As a registered FareShare distributor, Crossroads Community Hub accepts near-sell-by-date food from local participating supermarkets.  Our ‘Awards for All’ funding ended in July of 2024 and regrettably cooking soups and meals at Ayrshire Food Hub had to stop.

As an alternative we are currently supplying our community partners in the 5 villages with foods donated by supermarkets. We would like to say a huge thanks to Co-Op Galston and Morrisons Kilmarnock for their weekly bumper supplies of dried, fresh and frozen foods. These are shared widely through the community by our community partners Galston Food Larder, Shortlees Rainbow Cupboard, Catrine Food Larder, Annbank Community Association, Verve Darvel and via members of Crossroads Community Choir. If you are struggling and would benefit from a food parcel, please contact any of the local organisations mentioned.

Since becoming a FareShare distributor 35,440kg of food has been collected and distributed by Crossroads Community Hub. This is food saved from going to landfill  and also adds up to  113,368kg of CO2 savings.
